Review Nnormal Vein

데이트 10/01/2024

Hello everyone! Today we analyze the most versatile shoe from the Kilian Jornet and Camper brand. That´s the TOMIR. Tomir, which takes its name from one of the peaks of the Serra de Tramontana, is a shoe that we could define with three words: comfort, stability and grip.

cabecera

Let´s do a quick review of its technical data in a size 42:

- Weight: 255 gr
- Drop: 8mm
- 31/23 mm EVA foam midsole
- Vibram Litebase Megagrip sole with 5mm studs
- Neutral footprint
- Durable upper with great support and reduced pressure points

Let´s now analyze its key points one by one:

STABILITY

Slightly wider than its sister, the Kjeraj, the Tomir has a larger surface area in contact with the ground, which in itself gives it more stability. This, added to the construction of its sole in a single piece and the arrangement of the lacing towards the interior, make the Tomir one of the most established sneakers on the market.

GRIP

The Tomir incorporates a Litebase Megagrip sole from Vibram with 5mm studs. It is the best material that we can find within the Vibram catalogue, and Nnormal, aware that sneakers begin to lose their characteristics mainly due to the deterioration of the sole, wanted to incorporate the most durable, as well as light, material. for the soles of your sneakers.

In short, a light but very durable sole, implemented in the shoe in one piece.

COMFORT

Although we are not looking at a shoe as light as the Kjeraj, the Tomir, with its 255 grams of weight, is one of the lightest versatile shoes on the market. This, together with the softness of its upper and how collected the foot is with its structure, we can be calm and enjoy our adventures in the mountains.

THE DESIGN, ONE OF ITS DIFFERENTIATING POINTS.

It is in this shoe where we can see the spirit of the Mallorcan brand is its maximum expression.

With its visible lacing that joins the midsole with the upper to give it more structure and with the asymmetrical lacing that follows the natural direction of the foot to collect it more, but at the same time, reduce pressure points

FOR WHAT LAND AND UNDER WHAT CONDITIONS?

Thanks to its 5mm studs, the shoe performs wonderfully on damp and wet soils, so we should not worry about the presence of mud, which thanks to the arrangement of its studs it will manage wonderfully.

It is therefore an ideal shoe for autumn and winter, although it will also respond well on drier and broken terrain or rock, thanks to the grip offered by its Vibram sole.

Let´s not forget the trekking enthusiasts, who will find in this model everything they could ask for in a shoe to enter the mountains.

DISTANCES AND RUNNER PROFILE

From my point of view, it is an ideal shoe to do our Trail running training, since it provides a lot of protection and comfort to runners, who will be able to cover many kilometers with it without fear of over-stressing their muscles.

In competition, my recommendations vary depending on the weight and technique of the runner.

For medium/high weight runners, this is your ideal shoe, thanks to the cushioning of its EVA foam and its stability.

For light weight runners with good technique, I recommend the Kjeraj to compete and reserve this for your training.

DISTANCES

I recommend it for distances ranging from the half marathon (for medium or high weight runners) and up to the ultra distance or 100 miles, for all types of runners.

VERSIONS

We will also find the Tomir available in its waterproof version. This version incorporates a 100% waterproof Sympatex® membrane, with wind protection and optimal breathability and durability.
Plus, for lovers of planet earth, the PES membrane is 100% carbon neutral and recyclable, PFC-free and bluesign® certified.

The same waterproof version is presented in a boot model.

CONCLUSION and PRICE

The Tomir, with a price of 160 euros, is a versatile shoe, especially suitable for long distances and for putting in quite a few kilometers in our daily training, due to its: stability, comfort and grip.
